Excursions for the whole family on Usedom

Basically, those who have bucket and shovel with them drive to the beautiful sandy beach and build here one higher sand castle after the other. But of course you can experience much more on Usedom. So here are a few suggestions.

Ostrich farm Pudagla

You can also observe the largest birds of the world here on Usedom - on the ostrich farm Pudagala. But be careful, our big, feathered friends are not always well-disposed and don't like to be stroked. They are nevertheless beautiful to look at, as are the nandus, llamas and alpacas, whose wool you can also buy in the farm shop.

Climbing forest Usedom

Butterfly farm

Visit Europe's largest butterfly farm in Trassenheide on Usedom and stroll through a small tropical paradise. Here you will find up to 2,500 butterflies from up to 60 different species. The colourful fluttering companions come from South America, Africa and Asia and fly around between exotic plants like hibiscus and orchids. A special highlight is the second largest butterfly in the world - the atlas butterfly.

Besides butterflies you can also see macaw parrots, giant turtles, tarantulas and other insects.
