Fishing on Usedom

Even today you can admire countless wooden fishing boats along the Baltic Sea coasts on Usedom. Fishing has a long tradition on the island and there used to be over hundreds of full-time fishermen. The beautiful thing about Usedom is that you can catch both freshwater and saltwater fish here.

All those in possession of a valid fishing licence and a water chart are therefore allowed to search for the different fish. Mostly pike and garfish, zander, eels, perch and also herring, cod, carp, flounder and houting are caught here
